First Aid and

CPR training is required

for the original issue of a USCG license and it is

one of

the four

elements

required for STCW

Basic Safety Training.

When used to satisfy the

requirements for the

original

issue of a license

the training must have been completed no more

than one year prior to

the date

of the

application.

First Aid training certificates must be dated within one year of

the date

of

the application.

CPR training certificates must be from the American

Red Cross or

American Heart Association

or another

USCG approved training

program

and must be

dated within one year of the date of

the

application.
