All workbooks are printed and spiral bound. However, to keep prices down, reference and study
material is supplied in Acrobat Reader files on a reference CD. You may chose to print this material
or access it directly from the CD.

Radar Observer Renewal Study Package

The Radar Observer Renewal Study Package includes the following items:

  • Radar Renewal Course Workbook containing a review of "rem" plotting methods, four single
    contact transfer plot problems, and six multiple contact transfer plot problems.
  • Radar Transfer Plot Sheets
  • Resource CD containing a copy of Bowditch (The American Practical Navigator), Navigation
    Rules, Pub 1310 (The Radar Navigation and Maneuvering Board Manual), and a the USCG
    forms required for a license renewal.

This workbook is intended to prepare students for the 1-day Radar Observer Recertification course
offered by Columbia Pacific Maritime LLC, but would be useful in preparing mariners for any
Unlimited Radar Observer Recertification course.

Marine Radio Operator Permit Exam Study Package

The Marine Radio Operator Permit Exam Study Package is one workbook that contains all 170
questions in the FCC Element 1 question pool and four 24-question sample exams randomly
generated from this pool of questions.

Rules of the Road Study Package

The Rules of the Road Study Package contains the following items:

  • Rules of the Road workbook covering the Navigation Rules in 17 lessons, each lesson
    includes sample questions from the USCG question pool.
  • Rules of the Road supplement that includes a summary description of the lights, shapes, and
    sound signals.
  • Resource CD containing a copy of the Navigation Rules, Rules of the Road Diagrams, all
    published USCG Rules of the Road questions, and six 30-question sample exams.

This study package is intended for use by mariners preparing to take the 30-question USCG Rules
of the Road exam. It can also be used as a study guide for the 50-question rules exam required for
deck licenses over 200 ton and to prepare for any USCG approved course requiring a Rules of the
Road exam.
